Orderly geometric crystal dots over a warm coffee-brown velvet give BR-12 a rhythmic, versatile sparkle — easier to cut and repeat across a collection than a large motif, yet unmistakably premium.

How the Geometric Stone Dot Is Made

Orderly crystal dots on coffee brown — the easiest rhinestone design in the range to cut and repeat.

BR-12 is an 80% viscose / 20% nylon woven velvet, burned with a caustic paste in a regular geometric layout so the ground opens in a measured grid while the dot fields stay in solid pile. Crystal is then heat-set on the dots, over a warm coffee-brown ground.

Because the pattern is a rhythm rather than a picture, it repeats predictably across pattern pieces: sleeve, bodice and skirt cut from different parts of the bolt still look deliberate. For a buyer building a collection, that is the practical advantage over a large motif.

Handfeel, Weight and Drape

At 170–200 GSM this is a light-to-mid velvet: heavy enough to hang in a clean column, light enough that a full-length piece does not fight the wearer. The pile is short and dense rather than plush, so the surface catches light in a narrow sheen instead of a broad bloom, and the burnout openings give the cloth a slight give across the repeat.

Evenly distributed stone work means the cloth behaves consistently across the width — no soft panel next to a stiff one. It tailors and presses well, and the geometric layout hides seam shift, so it suits simple, clean-lined shapes rather than draped ones.

Where Designers Use BR-12

African party dress. The measured sparkle reads premium without the cost of a full crystal panel — a good entry price point for a stoned piece.

Kaftan. The regular grid follows a long straight panel cleanly, so a kaftan keeps an even line of sparkle from shoulder to hem.

Evening separates. Tops, sleeves and trims — the scale is small enough to use as a detail rather than a whole garment.

Care, Finishing and Colour Fastness

Dry clean is the safest route for a finished garment. If you must wash, cold hand wash with a neutral detergent, no bleach, no enzyme wash, no tumble dry — heat collapses the pile, and the sheer areas distort before the pile does. Press on the reverse at low temperature through a cloth, never directly on the pile.

In production the two things to watch are needle marks on the sheer ground (use fine-gauge ballpoint needles) and seam grin at the burnout edge — overlock or bind the open areas rather than leaving a plain seam. Colour fastness to rubbing is grade 4 or better on the dyed grounds; test reports can travel with the swatch card.

On the rhinestone versions, add one rule: never press the stone face. Heat-set crystals are fixed at a controlled temperature and a hot iron will dull or lift them. Press from the reverse only, and specify a cool wash or dry clean with a short solvent cycle so the adhesive is not softened.

Sampling, MOQ and Lead Time

MOQ is 300 metres per colourway. Greige is held in stock, so once a colour is confirmed the lead time is about 15 working days plus shipping. This is a rhinestone programme, so price is quoted per design and stone density rather than off a list — send the colourway, quantity and the effect you want and we will come back with a costed offer. Swatch cards go out by courier: send your address and the grounds you want to see and we will quote the freight with the card. Custom colour matching to your Pantone or lab dip is available above the MOQ; custom pattern development (OEM/ODM) is quoted separately, because a burn-out screen has to be built for the new layout.

Questions Buyers Ask

What is BR-12 Stone Geo Dot?

BR-12 is an 80% viscose 20% nylon burnout/devore velvet, 170-200 GSM and about 140cm wide. Repeating geometric crystal dots on a warm coffee ground; rhythmic sparkle. Available in: Crystal on coffee brown.

What is the MOQ, lead time and price?

MOQ 300 meters per colorway; greige is stocked so lead time is about 15 working days. This is a rhinestone design, so the meter price depends on crystal density and quantity — request a quote.

Can I order other colors or a custom pattern?

Yes, this design can be re-colored to your card and we welcome OEM/ODM custom patterns with a separate custom MOQ.

Is burnout velvet the same as devore?

Yes. Burnout, devore and devore are the same process under different trade names - a caustic paste burns away the cellulosic fibre (viscose, cotton) and leaves the synthetic fibre (nylon, polyester) standing. The sheer areas here are open cloth, not a printed illusion.

Will the sheer areas tear or ladder?

The open ground is nylon mesh, so it resists runs far better than a knitted sheer. It still needs a proper finish: fine-gauge ballpoint needles in sewing, and overlocked or bound edges rather than a plain seam.

Can it be washed at home?

Dry clean is safest for a finished garment. If you wash, cold hand wash with neutral detergent, no bleach, no enzyme wash and no tumble dry, then dry flat in shade and press on the reverse through a cloth.
